Sprint releasing Android 6.0.1 OTA update to Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, build G920PVPU3CPB6 and G925PVPU3CPB6

The latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA update is now sending to Sprint Galaxy S6 series, which includes Sprint Galaxy S6 G920P and Sprint Galaxy S6 Edge G925P.

According to the Sprint, the update brings two new build number for both phones:

  • Sprint Galaxy S6 G920P, G920PVPU3CPB6
  • Sprint Galaxy S6 Edge G925P, G925PVPU3CPB6

And the update mainly contains:

  • The latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow system version
  • The new TouchWiz provides enhanced usability and an updated visual design
  • Quick connect helps you easily find and connect to nearby devices by showing currently connected devices and previous connections
  • Fingerprints are securely protected. An alternative unlock method (pattern, PIN, or password) is required to add fingerprints
  • Advanced power saving mode restricts background data and extends battery life
  • A new vibration pattern concept has been applied

As I mentioned, The update for both phones are rolling out via OTA. In case, if you have not received it, I strongly advise you to Settings menu, then manually check for update.

Manually Check For Update

  • Go to Settings menu
  • Scroll to the System section
  • Tap System Update
  • Tap Update now
  • Once a new system update is available, follow the onscreen prompts to download and install it
