(OTA and Factory Images Download) July patch update rolling out to Pixel and Nexus

Google has already started rolling out the update of the security of July for Nexus and Pixel devices.

As you know, Google often rolls out a new security update in the first week of each month. It aims to fix all the discovered vulnerabilities in the operating system. Each month, the direct rolling is only available for Nexus and Pixel devices, because these devices run on the purest version of Android. On this point, the OEM need to test the update on their devices before it is rolled out.

This July patch update is divided into two parts, so that the most serious vulnerabilities can be got through the tests of manufacturers more quickly. With the update, more than 130 vulnerabilities are repaired. As always, the Mountain View claims that the vulnerabilities were repaired before they were exploited by this security update.

The new July patch update can be now downloaded from Google its own firmware server. It is compatible with the Google Nexus 5X, Google Nexus 6, Google Nexus 6P, Google Nexus 9, Google Nexus Player, Google Pixel C, Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL.

The new firmware contains the latest build number as well as the latest July security patches and Android 7.1.X version:
the Google Nexus 5X with build N2G47Z
the Google Nexus 6 with build N6F27H
the Google Nexus 6P with build N2G48B
the Google Nexus 9 with build N4F27I (Wi-Fi) and N9F27F (LTE)
the Google Nexus Player with build N2G48B
the Google Pixel C with build N2G48B
the Google Pixel with build NJH47D, NHG47O, NKG47M and NZH54B
the Google Pixel XL with build NJH47D, NHG47O, NKG47M and NZH54B

In general, the update will be offered automatically. However, if you don’t want to wait for a new OTA, you can manually update your device by using the OTA or Factory Images. Of course, flashing factory image seems to be better and more realistic.
