(OTA and Factory Images Download) Android 7.1.1 Nougat with December security officially arrived Nexus and Pixel

Google has officially released the December 2016 Android security update for its own devices. The standard update introduces the official Android 7.1.1 Nougat version which is just released in form of the Preview milestone at the end of last month.

The new Android 7.1.1 update brings new build NMF26O for the newly Pixel XL and Pixel, NMF26H for the Pixel C, NMF26F for the Nexus 6P (All carriers except Verizon), the Nexus 5X, the Nexus 9 Wi-Fi and the Nexus 9 LTE, NMF26J for the Nexus Player.

There is also Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update with generic patch level on December 2016, build NBD91U based on Android 7.0 is for Nexus 6, MOB30X based on Android 6.0.1 for Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi and Nexus 7 2013 LTE, M4B30Z based on Android 6.0.1 for Nexus 5.

As you would expect, Google has uploaded the OTA and Factory Images to its server, meaning you can start casting a new firmware version immediately.

You can manually flash the OTA.zip file to your Google device by using adb sideload command, a simple guide for you:

  1. Power Off your device
  2. Hold the Power button and press Volume Up once
  3. Select Apply update from ADB when you see boot menu
  4. Type and excite adb sideload command:
    adb sideload OTA.zip
  5. Once the flashing completes, reboot your device by selecting Reboot the system now
